Job description
A major clinical problem after liver transplantation is the need for life-long treatment with immunosuppressive drugs to prevent graft rejection. The adverse effects of these drugs impair patient survival. The objective of one of our research lines is to develop a safe immunosuppressive compound based on the established anti-inflammatory properties of Intravenous Immunoglobulins (IVIg). The aim of the current project is to elucidate the molecular interactions of IVIg with dendritic cells and regulatory T cells in order to identify the molecular fraction of IVIg that exerts these immunosuppressive effects. The project will be executed in close collaboration with a PhD-student and a technician.

The Training and registration Committee formulates and regularly updates the criteria to be met by the medical immunology training programme; to monitor the quality of the training centres and training programmes; to assess whether candidates for the training programme meet the entry criteria, namely recognition by the SMBWO as immunologists and biomedical scientists and approval of their individual training plans; to test the knowledge and expertise of the candidates training to become medical immunologists during and at the end of the training programme; recognition of candidates who have completed their training as medical immunologists and entry of their names in the register of medical immunologists; to keep the knowledge and expertise of registered medical immunologists up to date by providing regular refresher courses; regular testing of the current knowledge and expertise of registered medical immunologists.
