APC's Revisited:

The function of antigen presenting cells in health and disease

The ability of the immune system to detect and respond to invading pathogens is governed by antigen presenting cells (APCs). These cells can induce and regulate a tailored immune response against the pathogen, both in terms of quantity and quality. This year we will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the NVVI Lunteren course by focussing on the large variety of distinct APCs and their ability to elicit and control immune responses. The most recent concepts and latest advances regarding the biology and clinical application of APCs will be discussed by the following panel of excellent national and international speakers:

Over the last 40 years, the Lunteren meetings have always had a high educational character and the state-of-the-art presentations therefore include a thorough, step-by-step introduction of the underlying concepts. This meeting is therefore not only highly interesting for established scientists, but also for research technicians and starting PhD-students that are interested in this topic.
